Building Democratic Communities Together

Registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland NIC 100422

Public Achievement is Northern Ireland's leading youth focused civic education organisation.  Our work is build around our model of 'Civic Youth Work', and involves supporting young people to do real work on real issues in their communities.

We have a range of exciting projects working with young people in their communities, schools and in a range of other settings.  Our main projects are the Away from Violence programme, and the WIMPS (Where Is My Public Servant?) project.  We also work internationally with colleagues in conflicted societies around the world.

Four young people are heading off to Cape Town, South Africa tomorrow to work with Bush Radio – a youth run community radio station.  They are part of a United Youth programme run by youth organisation Public Achievement for unemployed young people from across Belfast.

We are currently seeking 30 young people aged 16 - 24 to join our United Youth pilot project - Be The Change.  The project is for young people not currently in employment, training or education and we are working in collaboration with six great partner organisations.
