Paul and Sean have just returned from a study visit to Israel with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service - and have hailed the visit a great success.

The visit looked primarily at the work of Or Yarok (Green Light) a road safety organisation that is running highly innovative programmes with young people that have seen a 20% drop in the accident rates amongst 17 - 25 year olds who have participated in the projects.  You can read more about the visit on Paul's blog.  Public Achievement are planning a collaborative project with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and their equivalent organisations in the border counties of the Irish Republic.  The visit was an important part of building a collaborative relationship between PA and the NIFRS, and we are hoping to draw on Or Yarok's models and evaluation tools for the project here.

The visit in Israel was organised by Ofir Germanic (photo top left) who manages Or Yarok's student and youth programmes, and is a long-time partner of Public Achievement's through the Youth Work in Contested Spaces project.  We are very grateful to Ofir for his facilitation of what was an extremely interesting visit.
