Lebanese Youth Workers Coming To Town

The delegation is from the organisation L.O.S.T. - the Lebanese Organisation for Studies and Training - will be in Northern Ireland from 29 August to the 7 September and will visit a number of Public Achievement sites, as well as other places of interest during their visit.  Their programme is funded by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, and the group will receive training in Public Achievement's Civic Youth Work model - with a particular emphasis on working with young people on issues related to conflict and division.

The visit follows on from training that our Director Paul Smyth delivered in Lebanon a couple of years back through the British Council there.  The youth workers work with young people in a range of locations across Lebanon from different areas and traditions.  The materials we developed through our previous 'Youth Work in Contested Spaces' project will help support their learning and their ongoing work with young people in Lebanon.
