Our Man at the Whitehouse!

19/01/2009
Christopher Madden, Public Achievement Board member and WIMPS activist, is to attend the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America - Barak Obama.  We are delighted that he will be there, and we can't wait to hear his first hand account of events.

Chris with the Speaker Willie Hay and Zulema - International VolunteerChristopher Madden, Public Achievement Board member and WIMPS activist, is to attend the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America - Barak Obama.

Christopher who is 15 years of age, is currently studying at the prestigious St Alban's College in Washington DC, having won a special scholarship to study at the school.  The school has educated many of America's political elite - and Christopher is living in DC at one of the most historical moments in America's recent history.

Chris was given his ticket - which includes participating in the inaugural parade and sitting at the inauguration at the White House - as a prize in an essay competition.  Chris has been extremely active through WIMPS - in particular in leading the '108 Campaign' to have a Youth Assembly established - so it is very fitting that he is our representative at these historic events.  We hope to have his first hand account of the events very soon.

Have a great day Chris - we are all very envious!
