The north Belfast part of the Away from Violence project is currently working out of the Mount Vernon and Skegoneil areas. There is currently a group meeting weekly in Mount Vernon, and one more is to form this term. We are looking at issues around our community and heritage, as well as policing and paramilitaries in our communities. In Skegoneil, the young people have chosen to look at how drugs affect their community. We are also working together with the WIMPS 'Peace Channel' project in the Greencastle and White City areas, exploring how the interface has affected young people in those areas and our perceptions of the 'other' community.
