Donations Keep Us Moving Forward

Public Achievement needs your support to keep our groundbreaking programmes running with young people in their communities.

Peace Channel LaunchWe work hard to challenge deterministic views of young people who live in tough social realities, and also works to address the legacy of conflict in the lives of young people – particularly those living in ‘interface’ communities. In the current economic climate, we cannot rely exclusively on government and charitable trusts to provide the income we need to keep our projects going.

Since our establishment at the end of 1999, we have learned that it is important to develop and sustain relationships with local communities and community organisations and projects.   The stop-start nature of much public funding makes it difficult to build sustained relationships and trust.

It is vital that Public Achievement diversifies its income base through a combination of generated income and the building of a donor base. To generate income, we have have successfully developed our training services, through our WIMPS team we make films for other organisations, and we are also generating income through renting our meeting and multi-media facilities to other organisations.

"Public Achievement taught me the difference between being cheeky and being assertive. Now people listen to me much more because I treat them with respect, and I really think about what they are saying to me", commented one young participant after being involved in Public Achievement in her Youth Club.

We also need to build our income through people like you – we need to build a donor base. By making a single or regular donation you can really help to sustain our work with young people and their communities, and the innovative and creative approaches for which we are increasingly known. Better still, if you are a UK tax payer, we can increase the value of your donation through ‘gift aid’

In return for your donation, you will become a ‘Friend of Public Achievement’ – and will receive regular updates on our work. You will also be invited to key events that celebrate our work during the year, as well as special fundraising events.

Send your donation to Public Achievement at 7 Donegall Street Place, Belfast, BT1 2FN, or contact us here.
