Cavan County Museum

Cavan County Museum, situated in Ballyjamesduff, is the newest of our museum sites. The group started in January 2005 and there are 22 young people in the group who are all part of the transition year in St Clare's College right next door to the museum. Last year the young people, the museum and Public Achievement worked together on a project about the famine in Cavan. The Young People made a documentary about the subject and wanted to make it accessible to the public by putting it in the museum.

They also had opportunities to meet up with the other museum groups in Monaghan, Fermanagh and Belfast to share ideas and make new friends. On two occasions the members of the group spoke at conferences, the Irish Museums Association conference in February 2005 and Spectator to Creator conference held in Dundalk in June 2005.
